You connect the spindle to the holes found in the back of the door handles, through the tubular latch or mortice lock fitted in the door. This connection means when the handle is pressed down, the spindle spins and operates the latch and opens the door. Different handles use different types of spindles and Heso spindles are generally used with both lever on rose and lever on backplate designs. Just remember that rim door furniture usually requires a threaded spindle, so this Heso spindle will not be suitable.
