Hemlock doors are of solid construction and are supplied unfinished. These doors can be treated with Hi-Build natural wood finishes to accentuate the rich colour of the timber.

Material composition: The typical solid core door is a mixture of wood particles glued together with heat, resins and hydraulic pressure to produce a uniform, consistent product.
Storage: When receiving door, it should be laid flat fully supported off the floor in a dry and fully ventilated area with protective packaging intact. Doors supplied unfinished should be thoroughly sealed on all faces and edges prior to any installation work.
Finishers: It is suitable for a Hi-Build paint finish only, using a suitable base coat primer with ‘knotting’ solution. 8mm trim option on all 4 edges. It is essential that the door is completely finished on the two faces and all four edges plus any cut-outs for locks, handles and hinges etc. Prior to finishing or sealing, lightly sand any handling marks. Usually 3 top coats are satisfactory, but we strongly recommend you that you treat this door in accordance with the paint manufacturer’s instructions. A light sanding between coats will provide the best finish. Adequate drying time must be allowed between each coat. Failure to seal the doors accordingly will invalidate any claims.

The Hemlock doors can be glazed with 17 mm double glazed units. We cannot give a size for the overall unit as there may be slight size variations during production and therefore best if the glazing is arranged once the door is received.
