Description

This overhead door friction stay is ideal for standard doors with a euro groove and is designed to keep a door held in the open position.
They have an opening angle of up to 125 degrees and also have an adjustable stop position and friction
A useful application in commercial settings such as an office or reception area
Easy installation and detachable arm for maintenance
Suitable for timber, aluminium or PVCu doors and frames (ONLY wood screws supplied for timber application)

The track simply recesses into the top edge of the door leaving only the arm showing when the door is open. The stopped position is adjustable on site to gain maximum opening angle yet stop the door before it fouls obstructions such as projecting sills,opening casements or down pipes.The friction provided by operating the device can be adjusted helping control larger doors, doors opening in windy / exposed positions.

What is a door holder and why use a door stop?

This is a device to enable the closer to be held in the open position. These closers must not be used on fire doors.

Always use a door stop, where practicle, whether a closer has a backcheck or not. This may take the form of a floor or wall/skirting mounted version or built-in as found with guide rail closers. The positioning of the stop is also important, and must be at least 2/3rds the door width away from the hinge, otherwise the stop acts as a fulcrum and could damage the door, the frame and hinges. Where a door closer had maximum angle of opening stated the stop must be positioned at that point, otherwise damage to the closer will occur.

Note: Please ensure that the correct closing device is the appropriate one for the job it is intended to do and that it is the correct size.
