Door care and installation guide: view here
Material composition: Engineered cores are manufactured from reconstituted wood such as chipboard, blockboard, plywood or MDF. Each of these raw materials can be used in different ways to make up the core component parts of a variety of doors. They are more stable in use than solid timber within the modern built environment.
Installation: Internal doors should not be installed in areas with recent plastered, screeded or wet sites. All of our doors including those pre-finished, should not be exposed to inappropriate damp site conditions.
Trimming: Door can be trimmed by up to 5 mm on any edge. When trimming doors, reduce them equally and not excessively from top and bottom for height, to the hanging edge only for the width (if minimal) but equally with the meeting edge if a greater amount is necessary. This information does not apply to doors with a FD30 fire rating.
Storage: When receiving door it should be laid flat fully supported off the floor in a dry and fully ventilated area with protective packaging intact. Doors supplied unfinished should be thoroughly sealed on all faces and edges prior to any installation work.
Finishers: Be sure to select a finisher with a lasting seal between component parts. Please avoid water based finishers, using only good quality solvent based finishers. Danish oil is not suitable for use on any of our doors.
