Composite External Doors

Composite doors are manufactured from a selection of materials, including PVC, wood, insulating foam or GRP to make a strong and long-lasting door. These materials are commonly glued and pressed together to bond them together to create durable front doors which can then be painted or finished.

Composite doors are often the go-to for front doors when style and looks come in to the picture just as much as security. Composite doors tend to have a more modern appearance than solid wood doors, but they are just as strong! Even if you are looking for something more traditional then composite doors can be available in cottage and authentic finishes, with or without glazing.

Opt for a bold and striking colour like a bright red or choose a timeless and sleek black finish. If you like the tradition and subtly of a white front door, you don’t have to choose uPVC as composite doors come in this colour too.

What properties do composite doors have?

Composite doors are known for strength, but few people know they’re incredibly low maintenance and the colour won’t fade or change in sunlight. These doors are designed to be resistant to UV so no colour changes will happen and for maintenance, just a wipe down with a damp cloth will do if you spot any dirt or marks!

Depending on which brand and which type of composite door you choose, (glazing plays an important role), composite doors are known to be energy efficient and keep in more heat than other materials. Their thickness and structure keeps heat in and it keeps some noise out too, meaning composite doors could be the best option for homeowners on main roads.

New build developments use composite doors often as house builders know of the benefits of these products, not to mention the looks.
