Our wood flooring is available in two different types: solid wood and engineered wood. Whilst engineered wood flooring is made up of several layers with a wood veneer as the surface layer, solid wood flooring is one singular slab of wood (as the name suggests), crafted into flooring planks.
Differing applications will affect which type of hardwood flooring you choose. If you’re wanting to install it in areas with low humidity and moisture such as bedrooms, lounges, and dining rooms, solid wood flooring may be the most suitable. This is because it is less likely to expand and contract in these areas, and because they are likely to receive a higher footfall compared to other areas of your home, solid wood floors can be sanded and refinished more regularly than engineered wood. This also goes for more heritage and traditional properties where a longer lifespan is needed.
Engineered wood flooring can be for applications with moderate humidity, thanks to its composition of plywood or MDF, which is less susceptible to warping. You could opt for engineered wood floors in your kitchen for this reason.
Our wood flooring comes in a wide range of finishes and colours, including smooth, textured, oak, and walnut. If you’d like more information on natural wood flooring, get in touch with us today on 01752 422 501. We’ll even offer you a free quote for your project.
