What is a turn and release?

Designed specifically for bathroom doors, a turn and release device is suitable for use in conjunction with both lever door handles and doorknobs on a rose. Typically situated beneath the door handle, the simple turn and release mechanism for locking and unlocking bathroom doors provides privacy to the occupant. For added safety, should immediate access to the bathroom be needed from outside in an emergency, most turn and release doors have an emergency point that can unlock the door using a coin or flat-headed screwdriver. Available in various finishes, turn and release locks can easily be matched to your specific door handle or doorknob finish to ensure a seamless look.
