The External Hardwood Victorian style Malton 2 panelled door from LPD is constructed using superior mortise & tenon joints and has an engineered core construction for greater strength and stability.

With its asymmetrical design, the Victorian door style adds a touch of historical charm to your room, enabling you to recreate a classic Victorian style to any home.

This door is supplied with 2 light unglazed rectangular apertures but will take single and double glazing (14mm sealed unit).

What is Mortise & Tenon

  • Mortise and Tenon is a type of construction joint that is made up of two parts. It is used to connect two pieces of wood, the tenon is the peg, and the mortise is the slot in which the tenon is inserted into. Mortise and Tenon constructed doors are one of the strongest type of joints and are ideal for exposed environments and can last longer without having to be regularly treated.

  • Not recommended for exposed locations. Wooden exterior doors must be protected by a canopy or awning. The mortise and tenon is a traditional joint and is popular due to its strength. This is one of the most common joints used by woodworkers and is the traditional corner joint for sturdy frames. LPD internal and external doors are manufactured using engineered component parts, all with a view to providing a product that offers a solid feel, but with the advantages that engineering brings in terms of greater strength and stability. Engineered doors are faced with veneers and matching lippings.

Unfortunately we do not have this information as the supplier does not recommend measuring for glazing until you have the door on site as the sizing can differ slighlty in each production run.

Hi there, we are looking to purchase this door in 78x33. Could you tell us the dimensions for the apertures for the glass please so we can order some or would you be able to supply this double glazed? Thanks! Laura

Answer:

The matching frame for these Doors is the DFC33. Overall frame size is 920mm x 2062mm

Question:

What lock comes with the door, or does this need to be purchased separately? What space is there for a lock.

Answer:

The lock is not included with the door (they are sold separately). The Doors are supplied with an area to fit the lock (called the lock block), which will be marked onk the door, as well as there being detailed instructions included with the door upon delivery.
