What is Mortise & Tenon

  • Mortise and Tenon is a type of construction joint that is made up of two parts. It is used to connect two pieces of wood, the tenon is the peg, and the mortise is the slot in which the tenon is inserted into. Mortise and Tenon constructed doors are one of the strongest type of joints and are ideal for exposed environments and can last longer without having to be regularly treated.
  • LPD external doors are manufactured using engineered component parts, all with a view to providing a product that offers a solid feel, but with the advantages that engineering brings in terms of greater strength and stability.
  • Engineered doors are faced with veneers and matching lippings.

Answer:

We do not have the measurements for the glass as this can change by a few millimetres during manufacturing. The gap is best measured once the door has been delivered for accuracy.
