Description

With its traditional boarded vertical panel design, this external rustic style pine door or gate by XL Joinery is crafted using a tongue and groove method, where each panel interlocks with a ridge on one side. The LB ledged & braced door comes with loose pinned braces, allowing for adjustments as needed. The boarded braces are secured using staples. Ensure hinges are positioned where the braces point downward (as shown on the left-hand side in the image).

Finish

This wooden door/gate is supplied unfinished, ready to paint or stain in a finish that will complement the rest of your property.

Technical Information

  • Not recommended for use externally where exposed to central heating on the inside.It is essential these doors are thoroughly painted prior to exposure to the weather in accordance with our door care advice. Face knots should be sealed prior to painting to prevent resin bleed, which can result where exposed to ultra violet light. Screw or staple holes will need filling prior to decoration.Must be installed and sealed in accordance with our "Door Care and Maintenance Advice" which comes supplied with each door.It is never advisable or intended that timber external doors be fully exposed to the worst elements of the weather, even if well coated. A southerly or south-westerly elevation is the worst direction for prevailing weather and exposure to the hottest sun can seriously degrade external doors.We recommend these are set back from the front face of the building or covered by a canopy.Always fit with a suitable weatherboard regardless of frame cill type fitted to prevent droplets of moisture hanging from the door bottom.We recommend washing down with warm water and detergent every two to three years and re-coating in order to retain good appearance.

Storage

  • When receiving a door, it should be laid flat, fully supported off the floor in a cool, dry and fully ventilated area with protective packaging complete.

Questions & Answers

Question:

My brick shed has two doors both 76.2 cm wide but they are only 177 cm high. Is there enough 'spare' at the top & bottom of your doors for me to cut off 11 cm from each end?

Answer:

It would not be possible to trim our shed doors by 11cm on each end unfortunately. Please find attached their listed trimming tolerances:

Trim Tolerance - Top: 12mm

Trim Tolerance - Bottom: 12mm

Trim Tolerance - Sides: 12mm

Question:

Can these be cut to size I need 1960x750?

Answer:

We do not recommend trimming this door to this size. It would void the warranty of the door. 

Question:

Can you please let me know the thickness of the door, with and without the braces? Also, what is the total height to the external points of the door braces?

Answer:

The vertical panels have a thickness of 16mm, and the braces have a thickness of 20mm, meaning that where braced, the door is 36mm thick.
